Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake

Ingredients
- Pound Cake
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 Tbsp SACO Cultured Buttermilk Blend
- 1 cup butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 eggs
- 2 tsp lemon extract
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
- Glaze
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp water
- ½ cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Pound Cake
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Grease and flour bundt pan.
- Mix together the flour, baking soda, salt and Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend.
- Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar.
- Mix in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in lemon and vanilla extracts.
- Gently mix in flour mixture alternately with the water.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 70 minutes.
- When cake begins to pull away from the side of the pan it is done.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire cooling rack; cool completely.
- Glaze
- mix all ingredients together and brush over cake
