Root Beer Cookies

Ingredients
- Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup water
- ¾ tsp root beer extract
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp SACO Cultured Buttermilk Blend
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1½ cups pecans, chopped
- Frosting
- 3½ cups powdered sugar
- 3 Tbsp water
- ¾ cup butter
- 1¼ tsp root beer extract
Instructions
- Cookies
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time; beating well after each addition.
- Add water and root beer extract, mix well.
- In a separate bowl combine the flour, salt, Saco Cultured Buttermilk Blend and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture.
- Stir in pecans.
- Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Frosting
- In a mixing bowl, combine frosting ingredients; beat until smooth.
- Frost cooled cookies.
